Satvinder: Note that you have made "thoughts" singular. Now for some detail:
#1--this is a dependent clause not a phrase--note that there is a subject (who) and a verb (said).
#2--You have an independent clause--it could form a sentence on its own.
#3--the whole sentence becomes one independent clause as "the sun shining in" is only part of the complete subject now.
